If Friends Were Flowers

Good evening

Firstly Happy Mother's Day to all the mum's out there, hope everyone has had a good day and been spoilt!

Secondly what has happened to our weather.  Last weekend it was gorgeous with sunshine, but the last few days here in Northumberland have been dull and cold and today I woke to snow!  Good excuse to stay in and craft.

The card I'm sharing with you is one I made for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day.  She loves flowers so I thought this LOTV image would be perfect.

The image has been coloured with copic pens and I added stickles to the wings on the butterfly.

Love is in the Air

Hi

There’s a new challenge starting over at Penny Black and More today, and I was delighted to be asked to be Guest Designer for this month's challenge.  The theme this month is

Love Is In The Air

I've used "Gift Hedgy" from Penny Black, but adapted it slightly.  The stamp has the hedgehog carrying presents, but I choose not to stamp them out and instead make it look as though the little hedgehog was holding a heart shaped balloon.

Hi there

Hope you have enjoyed your Sunday, but hasn't it been chilly today?  It's the kind of day where you want to stay indoors, nice and warm and craft and that's exactly what I've been doing.

I'm still making Christmas cards and here's my latest creation.

I've used the image 'Big Star' from LOTV which has been coloured with Copic pens.  The star and the edge of the background paper has been given the glitter treatment.  The trim on his hat and bobble have been sprinkled with flower soft.

Hi there

Just a quick reminder about this month’s challenge over at Ready Teddy Go.  Apologies, but I intended to post this on Thursday, but came in from work feeling cold, had a bad head and spent the rest of the evening on the settee shivering under a blanket with a hot water bottle!!

Anyway back to this month's theme which is 'Don’t Be Square' and there is a great sponsor - My Mum’s Craft Shop who are offering the winner a £10 voucher.

Bella on Bauble

Hi there

Hope you're having a good day.  Me not so much.  Whilst doing this post I am sitting waiting for a plumber.  Water has started dripping through our kitchen ceiling (could be coming from the bathroom upstairs).  Fortunately I have the day of work today or goodness knows what mess we would have come into tonight!

Anyway onto today's card.

The inspiration for this card has been taken from the Winter Wonderland Challenge.  Their theme this week is a photo inspiration (see here) and I've used the colour, the bauble and the white christmas tree.

The image is from Wild Rose Studio and has been coloured with Copic markers.  The stars on the bauble have been glittered and for the fur on Bella's hat I've used glossy accents and "hairy" glitter to give it some definition.

Image : Bella on Bauble (Wild Rose Studio)
Papers : Xmas Bella (Wild Rose Studio) & Bazzil Cardstock
Dies : Tree (Sizzix), Labels 8 (Spellbinder Nestibilities)

Well that's it from me.  I hope the rest of your day is good and thank you for all your comments.  I really do appreciate them.

Thank You Take Two

Hello

Isn't it typical, the weather here today has been gorgeous and where have I been - at work!

I'm back with another thank you card.  This time I've used two of the images from Present Trio by LOTV.

The images have been coloured using Copic pens and then cut and matted with my Spellbinders Nestibilities.  The paper is Hoppyhearts by Nitwits.

The edges have been distressed (well my attempt at distressing) using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Faded Jeans.  I'm not very good at distressing, its out of my comfort zone.  I think I am too heavy handed and usually end up with a mess!! This is one of my better attempts the others ended up in the bin.

The sentiment is from LOTV which has been stamped onto a Whimsy die cut.   The flowers are sweetheart blossoms from Wild Orchrid Crafts.

I would like to entre the following challenges:

Lili's Little Fairies : Anything but a Square
J & C Creations Challenge : August Challenge - Something a Little Different
Allsorts Challenge : Week 170 - Anything but Square

That's all from me.  Thanks for looking and for any comments that you leave - they are much appreciated.

Daisy Shower

Good evening

Have you enjoyed this Bank Holiday?  The weather has been a disappointment, dull and wet but it hasn't spoilt my day which was spent crafting.

I've made the card below for two challenges - Papertake Weekly Challenge and Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The Papertake Weekly theme was Pins and Needles where you needed to include either some stitching or some pins (or both) somewhere on your card.  For the Penny Black Saturday Challenge you had to use two different Penny Black images.

And this is what I came up with.

The images are "Shower of Flowers" and "Rainin' Daisies" both by Penny Black which have been coloured using Copic pens.  The background paper is from my pile of scrap paper and has been stitched around the outside.  Unfortunately you cannot see the stitching very well in the photo.

The roses, carnation and hellebore flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The pin is from the Ribbon Girl and the ladybird I picked up at the Harrogate Craft Show earlier this year

The sentiment is by LOTV and that has been cut and matted with Nesties.  The corner die is Whimsy.

I would like to entre the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Pins & Needles
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Double the Trouble

I'm off now to put the finishing touches to my son's birthday card.  His birthday is on Wednesday, but it's been difficult making his card when he's around - I've had to wait until he goes upstairs to bed!

Take care and have a good week.

Woooooosssshhhh

Good Afternoon

Hope you are enjoying this sunny Saturday afternoon.

Well its back to work for me on Monday following my two and a bit weeks holiday, sob sob!  I've had a lovely time off but it's gone over far too quickly.  We did manage to get away for a few days down to Hertfordshire.  Whilst there we visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Watford and had a fantastic time - well worth a visit if you like Harry Potter.
Anyway onto my card for today.  It's another Christmas Card which features the Penny Black image Exhilarating.

The image has been coloured with Copic pens.

The background papers are from My Minds Eye.

Nestibilities (Classic Scalloped Circles and Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles) have been used to cut and mat the image.  Die cut snowflakes, which I covered with glitter, have been added as an embellishment.  The pom pom and trim on the hedgie's hat and glove have also been covered in glitter which I purchased at the NEC last year.   (Not sure of its technical name but it was decribed to me as "hairy glitter"!!).

Flower soft has been added under the ski to give the impression of snow.  The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.  The ribbon and rhinestones are from my craft box.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland Challenge - It's Winter Sports
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Animal Antics
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Spots 'n' Strips

Thank you for all your lovely comments and to my new followers.

All Wrapped Up

Hello

Hope everyone is keeping well.  The rain has unfortunately made a re-appearance here in the last few days along with thunder and lightening!!

Tonight I have another Christmas card to share with you.  The image is All Wrapped Up by LOTV.

I have coloured the image using Copic pens with a touch of pencil.  Her hand muff has been glittered along with the ground by her feet.  The background paper is from Let it Snow by Dovecraft.

A memory box die (Biance Snowflake) has been used for the snowflake embellishment.  The ribbon, lace and rhinestones are from my craft box.

I've also decorated the inside of the card to match the front.

Apologies for the rubbish photos - still trying to perfect the art of taking good photos.

I would like to enter the following challenges

Winter Wonderland : Ribbon and Lace
ABC Christmas Challenge : O for Open It Up
Lili's Little Fairies : Christmas in July

Have a good week.

Three Little Bears

Good evening

Are you enjoying the Olympics so far?  I am and have watched some sports for the first time like volley ball and beach volley ball.  While watching the swimming last night I made this card.

I love all the LOTV stamps, but this stamp (Posy Trio) has to be one of my favourites as it's so versatle.  I have coloured the image with Copic pens and added a touch of pencil.
It's been ages since I used a DL size card, but I thought this image would look good on it.  The paper I have had for ages (sorry don't remember what it's called) and its been layed onto some Bazzil cardstock.  A x-cut punch has been used along one side.

I've embellished the card with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (Cherry Blossom, Sweetheart Blossom and Roses), rhinestones and punched butterflies.  In the centre of the stamped flowers I have put very small rhinestones.

The sentiment is from Craftwork cards.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Wild Orchid Crafts : Challenge 55 - Round in Circles
Ready-Teddy-Go Challenge : Challenge #13 - Anything Goes

Hope the rest of the week is good for you.
