Christmas Penguins

Hello

As there are only a few days left before Christmas Day I thought I would share a couple of the Christmas cards I've made this year.

Both cards feature penguins from MFT - for some reason I can't resist penguin images!

The first card features one of the penguin images from the Sweet Holiday Penguins Stamp Set and the tree from the Holiday Penguin Stamp Set, both by MFT.

The images have been coloured with Copic Alcohol Markers and die cut using the matching dies.  Glossy Accents by Ranger has been added to the baubles.  The scalloped circle die is also by MFT (Stitched Mini Scalloped Edge Frame - Circle).  The sentiment is an old wooden blocked sentiment (apologies I don't remember the make).

The second card features several images from the Holiday Penguin Stamp Set by MFT.

Again the images have been coloured with Copic Alcohol Markers and die cut using the matching dies.   The background was created by masking off the bottom section of the card to represent snow.  I then ink blended the sky area using Hero Arts Reactive Ink (Splash).   The sentiment is an Inkylicious one (Seasons Greeting x 4) which has been heat embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder.

Thank you for visiting and for your comments - I really do appreciate every one of them.

The Wedding Couple

Hello

I wanted to share the wedding card I recently made for my cousin's wedding.  She was due to be married earlier this year, but had to re-schedule due to Covid-19.  She managed to have the church service (with reduced numbers and no reception) earlier this month and will have another celebration with all family and friends next year (hopefully!).  This pandemic has destroyed and affected so many lives.  Here in the North-East of England we are currently under local restrictions but the cases keep rising!

Anyway back to my card.  The image is from one of the old printed sheets that LOTV used to sell but the image is still available as a digi stamp here.

Card Supplies:
Essential Pearl Squares (Tattered Lace)
Tiny Tags Die (Lawn Fawn)
Blissful Cotton (Anna Marie Designs)
Luxury Pearl Card - Silver (Stamps by Chloe)
Sentiment (Computer Generated)
Roses (Wild Orchid Crafts)
Rhinestones and Ribbon (My Craft Box)

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment.  Hope you have a nice day and stay safe in whatever you do.

Lavish Lilies

Hello

I can't believe that it has been three months since I last posted a card on my blog.  There have been a few changes to how blogger looks too - hopefully you are seeing this!!

I've got a very simple card to share today using the stunning Lavish Lilies stamp from My Favourite Things.

The image is so beautiful that I kept the card very clean and simple.  I stamped the image onto white card suitable for alcohol markers and coloured it with Copic markers.  I then matted this onto black card leaving a very narrow boarder.  This was then mounted, with form tape to give dimension, onto a white card base.  The sentiment (Bitty Birthday Wishes by My Favourite Things) was stamped onto black card and heat embossed with Opaque White Super Fine Embossing Powder (WOW).  The only embellishment I added were a few jewels from the Ice Cube Mix (Little Things from Lucy's Cards).

Copies Used
R000, R00, R30, R32, R36
YG01, YG25, YG17
E74, E79

New Home

Hello

We are now into a new month having spent April in Lockdown!  I have to say that some days have been better than others.  Thank goodness that I have cardmaking and crafting  - they have been a welcome distraction at times!

Talking of cardmaking, this is a card that I made to send to a work colleague who has just bought her first house.

The image is by Lili of the Valley - one of their mini masterpiece design sheets (Sheet 28) which have unfortunately been retired.  The good news is the image is still available as a digi stamp in the Esty shop.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted (Say It All).  Dies used were Inside/Outside Stitched Square Stax (MFT) and Filigree Corner (La-La-Land Crafts).  The background paper was a magazine freeby.  Ribbon and pearls were added as embellishments.  Glossy accents was added to the TV screen.

Thank you for stopping by.  Enjoy the remainder of the weekend and keep safe.

I decided to use a 5 x 7 inch card but in landscape.  The background paper is from The Crab Apple Lane - Country Lady paper pad by Lili of the Valley (retired).

The sentiment is a die by Whimsy Stamps "Birthday Word and Shadow Die".  Happy is from the Happy, Happy, Happy Stamp Set by Lawn Fawn which was heat embossed with WOW White Embossing Power.  Rhinestones were added as a finishing touch.

Thank you for visiting and for your comments.

Rabbit with Daisy

Hello

This is an image from the Little Friends stamp set by Lili of the Valley.  I confess I've had the stamps for a while now and this is the first time its been inked up!!  I used Copic Alcohol Markers to colour the image:

Rabbit - E43, E42, E41, E40, E95, E93, E51
Grass - YG17, YG11, YG23
Flower - R85, R83, R81, Y38, Y35, Y21

The papers are from the retired Up Up & Away Paper Pad by Lili of the Valley.  I used the stitched circle scallop frame by MFT.  The sentiment is from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set also by MFT.  Three small punched butterflies (Tonic) and pearl strings (The Hobby House) were added as embellishments.

I really enjoyed colouring up this cute image and I'm determined to do more.  It was  announced today that the lockdown would be extended for another three weeks - at least I might get some more stamping and colouring done!

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Easter

Hello

I hope this finds you safe and well this Easter Sunday.  Easter, this year has certainly been different for many families - many forced, due to Coronavirus, to spend it apart from extended families and friends.  However, it's a small sacrifice to try and stop the spread of this terrible virus and hopefully save lives.

Anyway onto today's card which is my final Easter card (for this year!)

The image is from a Forever Friends decoupage sheet (still chipping away at the old craft stash!).  I'm not sure about the papers as I've had them so long in my pile of papers!

The die cut Easter sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp die which I've teamed with the Happy Happy Happy stamp sentiment from Lawn Fawn.  A little bit of ribbon and pearl string adds a finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting.  Enjoy the rest
of this Easter weekend and stay safe.

Egg Painting

Hope everyone is keeping well!

How're you doing with the lock down?  I'm keeping myself busy by crafting and today I have another Easter card to share with you.

I've used another of the new Lili of the Valley Simply Print images
and this one is called Egg Painting.

The design paper is from MFT's Sweet Celebration 6 x 6 Paper Pack.
MFT's Little Letter Dies have been used to die cut the word Easter from different
coloured card stock.  The sentiment "blessings" is from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set also by MFT.  Coloured rhinestones have been added to two corners as a finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by.  Happy crafting and
please look after yourselves!

Eggs and Bunnies

Hello

I have another Easter card to share with you today.  The card uses a sweet coloured image from Lili of the Valley.

Some of you may remember the design sheets that Lili of the Valley used to do - this is one of those (Spring Bunnies with Eggs).  The image is still available as a digi image or simply print and can be found in Lili of the Valley's Etsy Shop.

I used a Tattered Lace Die (Essential Pearl Squares), Simon Says Stamp Word Die, Lili of the Valley/Nitwits Paper Pad (Petal Fresh - sorry no longer available) and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn (Happy Happy Happy).  Some flower roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and pearls added a finishing touch.

Hope everyone is staying home (where possible) and keeping safe.

Hopping by to wish you Happy Easter

Hello

Have you seen the new images by LOTV - they are just so cute!

Today's card features one of the new simply print design sheets called Easter Egg Hop.

I'm still trying to use up crafty supplies and this card uses a DL sized card.  For some reason all my cards now seem to be six inch square cards.  It was a nice change using a different sized card blank.

The designer paper is from the retired Petal Fresh paper pad by LOTV/NitWit Collection.  A Martha Stewart border punch was used to create the lace pattern.  The sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp Die and the happy is a stamp from Lawn Fawn (Happy Happy Happy).  You can't see it very well in the photo but I went over the Easter die cut with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pen.  I added string pearls, three punched butterflies and a mixture of fun flock and flower soft to the rabbit's tail as finishing touches.

Hope you liked the card.  The Simply Print sheets are really great for making quick cards.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comments - I really do appreciate you leaving them.

Using Up Crafty Stash

Hello

I hope everyone is staying safe and well.  One advantage of not being able to go out is that I get a bit more time to craft!  Hopefully I will have a few cards to share over the next few days/weeks.

One of my targets this year was to use up some of the crafty stash that I've accumulated over recent years.  I was having a clear out the other week and came across a box full of Forever Friends images, decoupage sheets and stickers.  I decided to create this birthday card using one of the decoupage sheets.

Apologies for the poor photography - I find easel cards difficult to photography!!

The patterned paper is also Forever Friends.  The sentiment is one of Phil Martin's Sentimentally Yours range (Elegant Milestone Birthdays) which was heat embossed using WOW Metallic Silver Super Fine Embossing Powder.  The dies are by Tattered Lace (Essential Pearl Circles) and the butterfly is a  Memory Box die (Pippi Butterfly).  Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments - I really do appreciate them.

Happy New Year and New Starts!

Hello

Happy New Year.

Well it has been a long time since I blogged anything - a full year in fact!  I'm not sure if I have any followers left!  If you saw one of my earlier post (November 2018) you will have read that my life totally changed in May 2018 when my husband of 25 years suddenly passed away.  Three months earlier my husband's brother took his own life, so as you can image the past 18 months or so have been very difficult for myself and my son.

I did do a small amount of crafting - making DT samples for the Hobby House and I would like to thank Jill for that opportunity.  Even though I wasn't making lots of cards I did still have an interest in crafting and regularly visited the many blogs I love to visit.  I know that blogging doesn't appear to be as popular now as it used to be but I have to say that visiting people's blogs and watching YouTube videos to see their creations certainly helped very much during recent months.

Anyhow, I've decided this year one of my goals will be to try and get back to some "regular" blogging.  This is a card I made for my neice's birthday in December.

The Panda was created using the Picture Book Panda wafer thin die (Simon Says Stamp) and Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets (Thermoweb) in black and white.  The sentiments are from the Party Like a Panda 6x8 stamp set (Simon Says Stamp).  The stars were die cut using scraps of paper from LOTV papers pads (unfortunately these pads are now retired).

I would like to thank anyone that visits my blog and for any comments left - I really appreciate the time taken to leave a comment.
